First annual Northwest Ohio River Runner’s canoe & Kayak race results Tuesday’s weather presented a picture perfect evening for the first annual Northwest Ohio River Runner’s Canoe/Kayak race on the Ottawa River. There were 9 colorful boats ready for the half mile challenge, starting at the Howard Pinkley Landing, on Shoreland Drive. The [...] This Tuesday Sept 13th @ 6:30 pm and Saturday Sept 17 @ 9 am, there will an outing at the HP Landing. Next Monday Sept 19th @7 pm at the Friendship Park Community center, the Heritage Society, will have Steve Pollick as its guest speaker. Mr. Pollick will present a slide show of his [...] This Saturday, in stead of having an outing, We thought we would help the “Ottawa River Klean-Up Association” (ORKA) . This is ORKA’s fall cleanup this Saturday, cleaning up Cullen Park and the islands at the end of the Ottawa River. If interested in volunteering, meet at the Ottawa River Yacht Club on Edgewater [...] Please be aware of the scheduled fall meeting dates at the Friendship Community Center. Meetings are on 4th Tuesdays and start at 6:30 prompt. The goup paddled around the Audubon Island, formerly Ewing Island, then towards the Maumee/Perrysburg Bridge. We beached on the south side of the Island where there it was shallow enough to get out [...] We would like to have a few Canoe/Kayak races yet this season. Local Yacht Clubs and organizations have donated perpetual trophies for various races to Our club. The trophies are on display at the Friendship Park Community Center.
