Up coming meeting agendas

Since we had such a great October meeting we’ll try to keep the ball rolling!

For the November 18th meeting, we will have nationally known Dave Thornton on hand to explain and demonstrate how to maintain your kayak (clean that great algae stuff off) whether it be wood, plastic or just Carbon Fiber! Dave will also give a demonstration on how to repair holes or cracks that might have occurred from encounters from the local alligators or sharks you may have encountered over the summer!!!

Then for the December 16th meeting, we will be hosting our third annual perch dinner, Master fisherman Dave Zobler of our group, will provide the butterfly filets. We will be serving french fries, coleslaw, a desert and beverage – all for a suggested donation of $10 to cover the cost of the meal and with the balance going towards our kayak kitty.  This kitty funds equipment for our “no charge Kayak Experience”, where we loan the needed equipment to first time kayakers so they can experience the fun of kayaking! The Kayak Kitty also funds the upkeep of the web site, web cam, minor costs for promotion of NWORR and HP Landing upkeep.

While enjoying your perch dinner, Jodi from Lakevue Marina of Marblehead, Ohio, will be there and is bringing some Hobbie kayaks for us to view. Hobbie kayaks are known for their unique paddle system, where you can free up your hands to take those once in a lift time pictures will still moving along the shore!

January 20th we will “plan” the 2015 season! This is where you let us know where you would like to paddle to have a weekend outing, maybe a place that you have paddled and think the group would also enjoy such a fabulous waterway!

We will also have a calendar with major paddling events within the tri-state area for us to reserve the dates to attend!  If you know of major events that should be included on the calendar, you can let Amy know at amy@amy1rose.com .

We have had T-Shirts in the past and have sold out, so we’re wondering if we should have T-shirts as a fund raiser again.
