Canoe currently under construction 10-25-2011
At the October meeting, Charlie Johnson gave a description of the process to build the wood canoes, that the youth group builds. They have built 7 boats over the last several years, at the “Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center”, located at 1225 Broadway Street. The Youths work on most Saturdays 11am to 1 pm ( you are welcome to stop in to see the progress) and various evenings.
Currently a 17′ canoe is under construction and will be finished sometime in December, to raffle off, which raises money towards materials for the youths and materials.
Also presented, were pictures from the moonlight cruise of Oct 9th.
