Tuesday May 10th’s Outing – You missed the Fun !!!

Hopefully next Tuesday, it will be warmer,  the sun will be shining, and there will be no wind, then I would hope all of you will be there!!!

There are a few pictures of  Dave Zobler, Winona and Ron Anderson, Denise and Jack Rex, Bob Pulhuj- all enjoying the Ottawa River!

What a Great April Meeting!

I you were at the meeting, I’m sure you enjoyed Steve Pollick’s presentation of his canoe travels on the Maumee and Sandusky Rivers, if you weren’t there you missed out on a great canoeing adventure! Afterwards Steve answered many questions from the membership, from canoeing/kayaking, to many other outdoor activities!

Those in attendance, voted on one of four options for the club logo! It was suggested that we combine 2 of the four more popular ones for the final logo. We will bring the final artwork to the membership for a final approval!

We also would like to welcome the newest members that joined at the meeting:

Bill and Carol Ducey, Charlie Johnson, Mendi Wilson & Jeff Maver, Jim Stackpoole, Robert Hull, John Sinkovic, Don Stader, Bruce Shaffer

Our membership is growing slowly, so please spread the word and mention the web site!

If you click on the pictures, you will view a large photo!

Come Join Us “Launch” Our Weekly Outing, Starting May 3rd !!

Starting May 3rd, and every Tuesday  through September, weather permitting, We will be meeting at the newly dedicated Howard Pinkley Landing, paddling the Ottawa River starting at 6:30 till dusk!

The landing is located at 2250 Shoreland Ave., between Suder Ave. and Summit St.  For a detailed map, click on the “Public Landing Sites” in the right column and then the “Howard Pinkley Landing”.

This is an opportunity to do some paddling locally, right in our own back yard!! With gas prices soaring, why not stay in the Toledo area, enjoying the beauty of Northwest Ohio, paddling every week, instead of driving many hours and only paddling once or twice a year!

We  welcome canoes, kayaks and rowing shells, bringing your personal safety flotation! If you do not have a canoe or kayak or have never had the opportunity to try this paddle sport, please contact us ahead of time, so that we can make arrangements to have the appropriate equipment and instructor at the landing for you!

Please E-mail   – and place “NWORR OUTING” in the subject line!

Please check this page before you head out, for any weather related schedule changes!

The Howard Pinkley Dedication!

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, not to mention the snow,  did not put a dark cloud over the celebration! The dedication moved from the planned outdoor gathering at the landing site, to inside  the Friendship Community Center. Below are some of  the many in attendance to honor and give Howard the recognition he has earned in Point Place and the Toledo community!

Pam Dillioin — Chief, Watercraft Div. Julie McQuade — Grant Coordinator

Dave Kieffer — Engineer Chad German — area Suppervisor
