NWORR to host fourth annual perch dinner on December 22
The NorthWest Ohio River Runners will host its fourth annual perch dinner on Tuesday, December 22, at 6:30 p.m. The fish fry is open to the public, but need to RSVP.
Master fisherman and member Dave Zobler will provide the filets. Also included in the meal will be French fries, cole slaw, side dishes, a dessert and beverage. A suggested donation of $10 is asked, to cover the cost of the meal, with the balance going towards the “Kayak Kitty.” This kitty funds equipment for the “no charge kayak experience,” where the group takes first timers out kayaking to experience the fun of kayaking. The Kayak Kitty also funds the upkeep of the website, web cam, minor costs for promotion of NWORR, HP Landing and Cullen Park kayak dock upkeep.
Assorted kayak accessories donated by area kayak stores will be raffled off.
The group meets at Friendship Park Community Center, 2930 131st Street, Point Place.
For reservations, on Facebook or call 419-936-3079 by noon on Monday, December 21.

Thank you to everyone for making today’s second annual “Swan Creek Fall Color Kayak Tour” such a great success ! Even with the morning temps in the low 30’s, the turnout was beyond expectations, over 26 kayakers enjoyed the bright sunny day paddling Swan Creek!.
Of the kayakers that joined us for the first time, most of them learned about today from “The City Paper”, thanks to Allison Osman, writer of the Field Guide feature, who is active with NWORR.
Also thanks to Dave, Gary, Cindy ( providing the Tim Bits) and Amy, for helping launch all the kayaks!
Then there is the Commodore – John Sinkovic for taking pictures and keeping us in line! smile emoticon
See ya for the Swan Creek Spring into Green Kayak Tour!!

Due to high NE 15-25 MPH winds with the predicted 55 air temperature at launch time of 6:30 and the sunset setting much earlier at 7:19!
All those possibilities make it unsafe for our group to be out on the water, unless you’re Patrick from Falcon Sails and his “Sailors”, who thrive on wind!!

The Second annual Swan Creek Fall Color Kayak Tour will be Sunday October 18th (rain date 25th), at the Swan Creek Landing, 210 S. Erie Street in the Farmers Market parking lot.
This year due to the schedule of the Metro Parks staff , at this time they will not be available to bring kayaks to this event, BUT that could change so please check back periodically to see if that changes.
also the 3 NWORR kayaks are unavailable.
If you have an extra kayak and want to share, you are welcome to post it here!
We will be leaving the dock by 11:30 am, starting to launch kayaks at 11:00, hopefully paddling the 3.5 miles up stream just past Western Ave., taking 3 + hours round trip.
